There are three levels of car chargers
We install level 2 chargers in houses, we don't supply the charger as there are many different rebates available to customers depending on where they live. There are two basic configuration for the car charger a hard wired or a plug in version. Typically if the car charger is going to be mounted external to the house then a hard wired version should be used to minimize plug issues and theft. For inside garages plug in versions can be used. It does cost more to install a plug in car charger due to the cost of the high powered plug. A typical install includes:
Note: Due to the large draw of the car charger not all main electrical panels can handle a car charger or have enough breaker space. This is especially true for houses that are over 30 years old and a panel upgrade may be required.
